ABOUT OUR TEXAS RANCH
 Quiet Hill Ranch is operated by a 6th generation Gillespie County family and is just what the name implies, unhurried and uncrowded. Quiet Hill Is located near the quaint little village of Doss, population 12 or so, and is 25 beautiful miles from Fredericksburg, Texas. The Ranch complex is situated on a teardrop shaped hill which juts out into the big Doss Valley affording one outstanding views all around. The cabins are positioned for privacy and all have a porch to dazzle guests with an awesome panorama of Texas at its best.
The one room log cabins will comfortably sleep six with one queen bed, one double bed and a futon that makes into a full bed. The cabins have beamed ceilings, a private bath with shower, a small refrigerator, satellite TV, in-room coffee and heat and air. Bed linens, towels and soap are provided.
The Ranch Kitchen is always open and ready
for you or your group's down home cookin'.

The Quiet Hill Lodge sits separate from the cabins and is available to our guests at all times. The rustic log lodge is great for most everything. There are two main rooms consisting of the Great Kitchen and the Ranch Room. The kitchen is large and completely equipped. The Ranch Room has beamed ceilings, a massive fireplace, old ranch furniture, books, games, puzzles, toys, piano and dining tables.

This Fredericksburg Bed and Breakfast offers a leisurely one hour escorted trail ride. The Quiet Hill wrangler will engage you with Cowboy and Indian stories, Texas history and the lore of the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Deer, birds and other wildlife are commonly seen along the trail. A free 5 minute mini trail ride is given to 5 year olds and under.

The Quiet Hill pool sits on the point of a hill that is surrounded on three sides by lovely valleys which gives the feeling of swimming in air. The fun doesn't stop there... horse-shoe pitching, swings with slide and tower, basketball goal, as well as our "Fort Sandbox" await the enjoyment of young and old alike.

Fort Sandbox is a treasure for little ones. They are in their own little world (but are visible to Mom).

and serenity of Quiet Hill's play area.

Within 20 minutes of the ranch are 3 truly unique eating establishments. El Gallo Mexican Restaurant is the family place with great home cooked Mexican dishes prepared for you by the Herrera family in a relaxed atmosphere, open Wednesday through Saturday for dinner as well as lunch on Saturdays. The Hilltop Cafe is open Wednesday - Saturday 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. for lunch and 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. for dinner, Sunday 11 a.m. - 9 p.m., closed Monday and Tuesday. This little ol' roadside cafe has earned a 5-star dining guide rating. The eclectic atmosphere and fabulous food are the reasons reservations are required. A fun place. The Doss Country Store is a great place for burgers and fries.
